Dunbar Street Art Trail 2018
Today is the first day of the week long Dunbar Street Art Trail 2018 which I am delighted to be part of this year with the Family Festival Arts Day taking place on Sat 25th Aug, especially as Cromwell Harbour is a favourite subject for me to paint. Check out some of my paintings displayed in the window of the 1650 Coffee House on the High St, Dunbar this week which by the way serve delicious cakes and amazing coffee.
Delighted to be part of the Number Four Gallery Summer Show in St Abbs
The Number Four Gallery in St Abbs is in a gorgeous restored steading next to the Old Smiddy Tea Room on the edge of the St Abbs Nature Reserve and has the most wonderful selection of contemporary art work, sculptures, prints, ceramics, paintings, jewellery and glass work. It is a pleasure to visit and on a beautiful spot overlooking St Abbs Church surrounded by wheatfields. Having often been inspired by the art work on display I am thrilled to be included in their Summer Show this year and just learnt yesterday they have sold my painting of St Abbs Harbour. www.numberfourgallery.co.uk
Harris Carnival and Arts Festival Aug 2018
This was a fantastic wee international festival organised by Rural Nations arts production company in Stornoway and there were theatre groups and performers form Latvia, France, Sweden and France taking part as well as Hebridean artists over 2nd to 4th Aug 2018 in Tarbert, Isle of Harris and in satelite venues around the island. I was asked to exhibit as part of the Arts Festival and was in a pop-up cinema venue showing wonderful black and white moving image form the 1920's-40's of island life in the Western Isles. I exhibited my recent paintings of Harris and Uist and was pleased to be a part of such a creative and enterprising event.
3HAF Three Harbours Arts Festival in Cockenzie, Port Seton and Prestonpans 2018
I had a fantastic time exhibiting at the 3 Harbours Arts Festival in early July. It's in a wonderful location and aided by the map of all the venues exhibiting artists' work you can visit a number of wonderful buildings and see a wide variety of art work over a day or two. I met lots of fellow artists and enjoyed being part of this vibrant event. I sold my Oat Field, Spott and was pleased it went to a couple who knew the area well that it was painted in.
